Reis Makina General Manager Başar Demircan, in statements to Nasıl Bir Ekonomi, discussed the Biglift brand’s local production initiatives in material handling equipment, Türkiye’s potential in the sector, and its export targets.

A new era is emerging in Türkiye’s material handling equipment market, which for many years has been dominated by imported products, driven by increasing investments in local production. In his interview with Nasıl Bir Ekonomi, Reis Makina General Manager Başar Demircan stated that Reis Makina is bringing its 25 years of industry experience in material handling equipment into production under the Biglift brand.

Demircan noted that Biglift, which develops pallet trucks and a range of material handling solutions, aims not only to provide an alternative to imported products in the Turkish market but also to establish a strong position in export markets. He also highlighted that Biglift’s pallet trucks have quickly become among the preferred products in European markets.

Pointing to Türkiye’s significant market potential in material handling equipment, Demircan stated that approximately 75,000 pallet trucks are imported annually in this category alone. He emphasized that expanding the product range and strengthening local production capacity could contribute to reducing the sector’s overall dependence on imports.

The interview also highlighted Biglift’s goal of establishing a strong presence not only in the Turkish market but also across various international markets. By further developing local production capabilities, the company aims to contribute to enhancing the global competitiveness of Türkiye’s industrial manufacturing sector.
